Shaquille O’Neal To Donate Proceeds From Upcoming Show To Buffalo Mass Shooting Victims’ Families
Another public figure has come through for the victims affected by Buffalo’s tragic mass shooting.
Shaquille O’Neal revealed he’ll be donating his earnings from his upcoming show in Buffalo, New York to the families of the victims who were fatally shot in the recent supermarket mass shooting.
On Saturday (May 14) 18-year-old white gunman, Payton S. Gendron, drove at least 200 miles to open fire inside of a “Tops Friendly Supermarket” in a predominantly black neighborhood in Buffalo, NY, killing 13 people, 11 of which were black locals. Payton Gendron live streamed the racist attack. Before the shooting, he labeled himself as a white supremacist. Following the incident, Payton Gendron was taken into custody and ultimately pleaded not guilty.

Retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal ventured into the music industry under the stage name “DJ Diesel.” In the 1990’s, Shaquille O’Neal unleashed four rap albums, including platinum-selling “Shaq Diesel.” The name crept up on him again in 2015. In a recent interview, he stated he’ll be DJing at his “Bass All-Stars” concert in Buffalo, New York on Friday (June 24).

Shaq, 50, said:
“My next show is in Buffalo. I’m going to donate my proceeds to some of the family members that had a tragic loss.”
The 50-year-old star continued:
“If I see where there’s a need, I take care of it.”
Shaq added comments about the method he takes in his music career:
“I never know what I’m going to play until I look at the crowd. The guy that goes on before me, I’m seeing what he’s doing and if the crowd is engaged. If you play a hit, you already know they’re going to like it.”

It seems as though Shaq has been in a giving mood lately. As previously reported, on Sunday (June 12) Shaq went on a date with an unnamed woman at Jue Lan Club in New York City. The date must have gone well because not only did Shaq pay for their tab, but he paid for the entire restaurant, which features over 40 tables. This was a humble motive for Shaq as he asked the restaurant to keep his generosity a secret from other diners. Reports state Shaq’s total for the night was estimated at $25,000.
