Zendaya Wants To Direct An Episode Of ‘Euphoria’ For Season 3
Emmy Award-winning actress Zendaya recently confirmed she’s looking to add “director” to her various list of accolades.
According to reports, “Euphoria” actress Zendaya, 25, recently did a Q&A session for her Vogue Italia cover shoot when a fan inquired when she was going to direct an episode of the teen drama series she stars in.
In response, Zendaya revealed she was actually supposed to make her directorial debut for an episode in season 2, but the rising star didn’t have enough time to prepare. She said:
“It’s funny. I was actually supposed to direct episode 6, but then I had to act in it.”
Zendaya continued:
“I didn’t have enough time, so unfortunately, I wasn’t able to this time around. I wanted to have enough time to do it the right way.”
The Oakland native added:
“So, next season probably.”
HBO’s hit series “Euphoria” follows the troubled life of 17-year-old Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. The series also showcases a group of high school students and their experiences of identity, trauma, drugs, self-harm, family, friendships, love, and sex.
The HBO drama became a huge hit in its first season, reportedly averaging 6.6 million viewers per episode. Zendaya, the main character of the series, earned her first-ever Emmy nomination and win for her work on “Euphoria.” Zendaya became the youngest actress to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award at the 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2020.
