Kanye West Drops Out As Rolling Loud Miami Headliner One Week Before Festival, Replaced By Kid Cudi
Not so good news for Kanye West fans!
According to reports, Kanye West, 45–who now uses the stage name Ye–has dropped out of his headliner position for next weekend’s Rolling Loud music festival in Miami. The rapper turned entrepreneur is now being replaced by fellow rapper, Kid Cudi, 38. Festival organizers took to social media and made the announcement on Sunday (July 17). They wrote:
“Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. Please welcome @KidCudi”

Rolling Loud Co-Founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler further told sources:
“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing.”
They continued,
“This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”
As expected, several concertgoers were upset by this news, many even asking for a refund and calling out Kanye for disappointing his fans. See reactions below:

While many fans are shocked by the news, others predicted this might happen because Kanye West infamously dropped out of the Coachella music festival earlier this year. Just like Rolling Loud, his removal as a headliner for the festival was reportedly last minute, with no explanation.

What makes this even more ironic is that Kanye and Kid Cudi, who were once close friends, had a recent falling out that was made very public. As previously reported, Kanye West announced in February that his good friend and long-time collaborator Kid Cudi would be cut from his “Donda 2” album because of his friendship with Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

Kanye wrote,
“Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who we all speak in Billie language now.”
Cudi quickly commented,
“Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u f*ck*n dinosaur hahaha, everyone knows ive been the best thing about ur albums since i met u. Ima pray u for brother.”

In April, Kid Cudi publicly clarified that he and Kanye still were not friends despite the fact they collaborated on a song of Pusha T‘s which the “Pursuit Of Happiness” rapper said would be the last time they worked together.

Kanye West has been laying low the past couple of months after a very chaotic stint of controversial social media posts insulting his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, her boyfriend Pete Davidson, and several others including ex-friend Kid Cudi.
Kanye has yet to speak out amid the news of dropping out of Rolling Loud.
