John Boyega Remembers The Late Michael K. Williams Ahead Of The Release Of Their Newest Film ‘Breaking’: We’ll Forever Love You, Brother
Yesterday (July 20) the trailer for the highly anticipated film “Breaking” was released. The movie stars British actor John Boyega, 30, and Michael K. Williams. As previously reported, Michael K. Williams was unfortunately found dead in his Brooklyn apartment by his nephew on September 6, 2021. According to reports, the actor died from an overdose.

During a recent red carpet appearance, John Boyega spoke about fighting for the chance to work with Michael K. Williams. He said,
“I actually requested him to be in this movie, and he came through.”
He continued,
“Got paid peanuts just to be a part of the art, so we’ll forever love you, brother.”

John Boyega added that seeing the “Breaking” trailer brought back memories of acting alongside Williams. He said,
“To see the trailer today brought back all those emotions and feelings and just being on set with him.”
“Breaking” is based on the true story of the late Brian Brown-Easley (portrayed by John Boyega), a former Marine Corps veteran in financial trouble. Easley takes to robbing a bank in hopes of bringing attention to the hardships he and other veterans face.
Boyega spoke more about the film and said,
“Breaking is going to be an incredible movie. Starring in this movie alongside Michael K. Williams and Nicole Beharie has been a blessing to me.”
He added,
“And I’m getting ready to show you lot a little range, show you lot a little somethin’ somethin,’ you know what I mean?”

According to reports, “Breaking” is one of two posthumous projects Michael K. Williams will appear in. The film is set to release next month on August 26.
