Kendrick Lamar Gave Advice To A Young Fan During His Concert, Later Wrote Him A Handwritten Letter: You Will Forever Be Great [VIDEO]
Kendrick Lamar recently took the time out to deliver some uplifting words to a young concertgoer in front of an entire arena.
On August 14, the Compton rapper was performing at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit as part of his “The Big Steppers Tour,” when he spotted a young fan in the audience. According to footage shared to social media, Kendrick Lamar noticed the 9-year-old kid holding a sign that read,
“My name is Kendrick. This is my 1st concert. Can We Take a Pic.”

After reading the sign, the 35-year-old musician gifted the young boy — also named Kendrick — with something even better. Kendrick Lamar briefly paused his performance to talk to the young fan in the crowd, speaking encouraging words to him from the stage and sending him home with a handwritten letter.

The music star began with encouraging the child to “respect and honor” his parents, who attended his first concert in Detroit for “The Big Steppers Tour.” Lamar said,
“Always honor them, man. They brung you to your first concert. Always respect and honor them.”

Following his performance, Lamar gifted a handwritten letter to the fan on the back of his sign. He wrote,
“Young Kendrick. Thank you for coming. I’m glad we got to exchange energy. You are special. Continue to manifest the great energy you possess!!! See you next time!!! Luv!!!”

On August 16, the young fan’s father, David Stewart, wrote via his IG stories,
“I named my son after Kendrick 9 years ago. I was at a Kendrick Lamar concert the moment my son was born!! And for that moment to take place is definitely amazing that the universe came back full circle like that!”
