Stacey Dash Breaks Down After Recently Discovering DMX Passed Away A Year Ago: I’m Ashamed I Didn’t Know [VIDEO]

Stacey Dash is a year late with sending her condolences to DMX.

On Wednesday (Aug. 31) actress Stacey Dash hysterically cried in a TikTok video revealing she found out the late DMX died, a year after his passing. While wiping her tears in disbelief, Stacey Dash said:

“Okay y’all. I’m ashamed. I didn’t know –”

The 55-year-old continued:

“I didn’t know DMX died. I didn’t know. From the cocaine overdose.”

She added:

“I am today, six years and one month clean. It breaks my heart, it breaks my heart, that he lost to it. He lost, he lost to that demon of addiction.”

The mother of two exclaimed:

“Please, please, don’t lose.”

As previously reported, rapper DMX, born Earl Simmons, passed away on April 9 last year from a cocaine-induced heart attack, which reportedly reduced the blood circulation flowing throughout his brain. A source from the Westchester County medical examiner’s office shared:

“It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain.”

The source added:

“His death literally happened immediately because the brain was dead. So obviously, there were a number of days where he was on ventilatory support and so forth in the hospital.However, he was diagnosed brain-dead early on … He never woke up from a coma.”

Last year, Dash has spoken publicly about her drug addiction, admitting that she used to consume up to 20 pills a day. Dash admitted:

“I lost everything.”
