Marlo Hampton Seemingly Backtracks On Comments Claiming Kandi Burruss Is ‘Only Known In Atlanta’: I’m Just Saying We’re In Different Circles

Marlo Hampton has apparently changed her mind about Kandi Burruss‘ popularity status around the world!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) season 14 reunion concluded on Sunday (September 25), and fans were able to see peach holder Marlo Hampton walk back on her claims that Kandi Burruss is only known in the City of Atlanta. Reunion host and show executive producer Andy Cohen asked Marlo Hampton about her previous comments, to which she replied,

“No, she’s worldwide. I mean it’s just when I was saying it at the time, I was saying you’re not in the circles I’m in. When we go places [such as] Paris or London, I’m just saying we’re in different circles. But you know I’m worldwide.”

Marlo continued,

“If me and Kandi right now go to Paris or London or something, I’m gonna be able to get in certain doors Kandi would not be able to get into. If they just see us. Not here in this scene, just right now if we go walk into Paris.”

As previously reported, tensions flared between Marlo and Kandi Burruss during a cast trip to Jamaica that was organized by new housewife and former track star Sanya Richards-Ross. The conflict started after Marlo shared her ill feelings about Drew Sidora’s husband, who decided against adopting her child after speaking with the biological father. Marlo, who grew up in foster care, kept pushing the issue — eventually prompting Kandi to speak up. It’s important to note that during this current season Marlo sent her nephews, whom she appears to have guardianship of, to live with someone else so she could have a breather.

During their dispute, Marlo also used Kandi‘s mother Joyce Jones‘ prior comments regarding the legality of her marriage to Todd Tucker as an attack. She said,

“You don’t think it’s weird what you have done… let your man feel belittled when it comes to your mother?”

She continued,

“Nobody [knows you] – [you’re] only known in Atlanta.”

In response, Kandi said,

“B*tch, I’m worldwide!”
