Styles P Of The Lox Announces His Retirement As A Solo Artist & Teases Final Albums: I Have Become Less Spiritually Healthy Than I Used To Be

Styles P is retiring from rap as a solo artist!

On Wednesday (October 5), Styles P took to Instagram to announce his retirement in a lengthy heartfelt message to his fans. The Lox rapper explained that he has “become less spiritually healthy” and is stepping away from his solo career as well as his successful and impactful Juices For Life business in an effort to better his mental and spiritual health.

He explained,

“I say this with a deeper over standing of self and evaluating the status of my own mental health. I have noticed I have become less spiritually healthy than I used to be. I believe I have run myself down a tad bit over the past few years. Being a super hard working emcee and a health advocate..For one, I’m not that great at multi-tasking. It’s my drive that keeps me going, and that slack falls back on my family, business partners, and co-workers. I thought about it harder and came to the conclusion that I need to walk away from my solo career period (I think I gave y’all enough).”

“I will be retiring late 2023 as far as my solo career is concerned. I have two more solo projects for y’all and I’m Out!!! I’ll be on deck for all things LOX music, shows etccc.”

In addition to stepping away from his solo career, Styles P also explained he would be stepping down as owner of Juices For Life.

“My main focus is trying to push Farmacy For Life to the next level. I’ve realized I slacked and never adequately traveled to the juices BK, Fordham, and barely go to the Tremont locations. This isn’t fair to my partners, nor is it inspirational to the youth that are watching. It’s also not fair to myself to be honest with you. For that I apologize.”

He added,

“I believe, rather I know, the people are in good hands with my partners and brothers. They have the same passion and drive and care for the people as I do, so y’all good.”

Styles P is best known as a member of hip hop group The Lox, alongside childhood friends Sheek Louch and Jadakiss. The Lox gained national exposure in 1997 with a collaboration on Diddy’s single “It’s All About the Benjamins,” shortly after gaining additional exposure with their multi-platinum tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. “We’ll Always love Big Poppa.”

The trio later appeared on a multitude of hits including; Mase’s “24 Hrs. to Live,” Mariah Carey’s “Honey,” and Jennifer Lopez’s “Jenny from the Block.” The group’s debut album Money, Power & Respect, went Platinum by the RIAA.
