Cynthia Bailey Debunks Rumors Of Infidelity Being The Cause Of Her Split From Mike Hill: It Was Nothing Scandalous, We Just Outgrew Each Other

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill may have gone their separate ways, but it’s not for the reason that everyone may think.

On Tuesday (Oct. 11), theJasmineBRAND exclusively reported that Cynthia Bailey and her husband, Mike Hill, had unfortunately pulled the plug on their marriage. Close sources revealed that they’d been apart for a while and the divorce was already underway.

In a joint statement, Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill confirmed the news via Hill’s Instagram account, assuring that the departure was a mutual decision.

The public message read:

“LOVE is a beautiful thing. While we both will always have love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways. No one is to blame and we are grateful that we remain good friends. We will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife. Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and we appreciate our family, friends, and beloved fans for your positive support as we move forward and start new chapters. Thank you for your prayers & well wishes! Cynthia & Mike.”

Following the announcement, many speculated about the determining factor behind the pair’s split, suspecting that there was infidelity involved. If you don’t know, back in November of last year, a random woman accused Hill of sending her nude photos on Snapchat. The sports anchor later denied all claims, and Bailey affirmed that their relationship was unaffected by the rumor.

Amid their separation, Bailey has since spoken out and reiterated that cheating played no part in their breakup. In fact, the couple just simply realized that they weren’t made for each other in a romantic aspect but would always have a bond.

The 55-year-old said,

“It may not seem like it when you think about divorce or a relationship ending, but this for us is not a bad thing. This is not a tragic ending for us. This is two people who have enough love and respect for each other to be truthful about their relationship in terms of asking themselves, ‘Are we truly happy together? How do we want to move forward?’ And then who were brave enough and loved one another enough to make that choice together.”

She then continued by expanding on the revelation of having to accept their incompatibility and how it differed from each of their previous unions, where they stayed longer than needed.

“I didn’t want to wait eight years to figure out that it’s not working or we’re not compatible as we thought we were. And Mike’s the same way. We always said we never wanted to feel like we were just in this to be in this. We didn’t want to settle for anything less than happy. And we just got to the point where, after really evaluating it, we felt like we were better suited to just be friends rather than trying to force something to work that just wasn’t working anymore.”

However, despite the demise of their happily-ever-after, Bailey stands firm in the fact that she regrets nothing about jumping the broom with Hill. The CB VIOR owner bragged that she initially fell deeply in love with Hill and was excited to see what the pages of their fairytale ending held.

When speaking on the possibility of unfaithfulness, Bailey set the record straight and said that Hill had never stepped out on her. But… through growing together, they soon realized that they were growing in different directions.

“There was no infidelity to my knowledge. Mike never had sex with another woman during our marriage. At the end of the day, it just came down to a number of things. And I respect Mike and respect our marriage too much to go into the details of those things, but it was nothing scandalous, we just outgrew each other.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alumna added,

“People say all the time, ‘You don’t really know someone until you live with them.’ And for us, our relationship was bicoastal for a long time. Once we were able to be with each other on a more consistent basis — and we started really, really getting to know each other — we realized we weren’t as compatible as we thought we were. So we did something about it, simple as that.”

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill got engaged in July 2019. The then-lovebirds ultimately walked down the aisle in October 2020. The 10th of this month would’ve made their two-year wedding anniversary.

After boasting that she had “an incredible marriage” to Hill, Bailey shared:

“Mike is my best friend. Friendship is the nucleus of a marriage. It’s one thing to walk away from a marriage, it’s another thing to walk away from a friend and I don’t want to lose both. So it’s very important to me that we keep our friendship intact.”

Apparently, the Fox Sports phenomenon is on the same page.

Hill expressed,

“I love Cynthia and will always love her because she is a phenomenal woman and a beautiful person. Even though our relationship is ending, our friendship remains rock solid and for that I am grateful.”

We wish both Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill the best as they move forward into the next stage of their lives!
