Tyler Perry wants the world to know that he has absolutely no ill feelings toward Janet Jackson and Jill Scott.
During a recent interview, Tyler Perry shared that he’s open to doing a third part for his hit project ‘Why Did I Get Married,’ but he would want Janet Jackson and Jill Scott to sign onto the pending film first. He said,
“If Janet [Jackson] and Jill Scott say ‘yes,’ there may be a Why Did I Get Married Again?”
He added,
“So, waiting for them to say it. Waiting for the word.”

Despite his comments seemingly coming from a good place, it didn’t stop some publications from twisting his words for “clickbait.” Today (Oct. 27) Tyler Perry took to his IG stories to address a headline that read,
“Tyler Perry Calls Out Janet Jackson and Jill Scott for Holding Up the Next Installment of ‘Why Did I Get Married,’ Scott Responds”

In part, he wrote,
“I guess people write these kinds of headlines for clickbait. It’s sad. I didn’t call out Janet and Jill and they’re not holding up another Why Did I Get Married.”
He continued,
“I haven’t written a word on a script but I do have an idea and a concept of where our lives and love would be after 15 years since the first one.”
He added,
“No one is holding up anything and I’m not calling anyone out. Stop the bs”

‘Why Did I Get Married’ is a comedy-drama film that was released in 2007. The plot centers around a winter retirement between four couples, who have been best friends since college. The film highlights the different marital struggles the couples are dealing with, such as infidelity, finances, losing a child, and more. The movie stars Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Malik Yoba, Sharon Leal, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Richard T. Jones, Denise Boutte, and Keesha Sharp. The second installment – Why Did I Get Married Too? – was released 3 years later in 2010.
Prior to Tyler Perry clarifying his recent remarks, Jill Scott revealed she’s down for a 3rd go-around. She tweeted her cast and asked, you all,
“already said yes?”
She added,
“Janet Jackson, did you get a text message?”
