Lamar Odom Recalls Getting His Pawned Championship Rings Back For Free After A Fan Spent Over $100k Purchasing Them

The Los Angeles Lakers have a truly dedicated fanbase!

Former star of the west coast basketball team Lamar Odom recently confirmed as much, telling the story of how one fan blessed him after he made a panicked decision. During his new podcast On The Lo Show, Lamar Odom, 42, revealed that after pawning his championship Lakers rings, the fan who purchased the high-valued items decided to give them back to the athlete free of charge.

Explaining how he sold the rings after going broke following his 2015 coma stint, Odom stated:

“There was a time when I came up out the coma, I checked my account and my sh*t was at like double zero….I panicked,”

He continued and touched on how he ultimately got the exclusive jewelry pieces back:

“I go to a Lakers game….I see this guy who used to sit right by us….He says ‘Yo Lamar, yo I bought your rings’….I pulled up on him and he gave me my sh*t back for nothing.”

Back in 2015, Odom was hospitalized for an extended period of time after having several heart attacks and strokes. The athlete later admitted his actions were the result of mixing lethal drugs and alcohol as a way to deal with his failed marriage to reality star Khloe Kardashian. Upon getting out of the hospital, it seems Odom pawned off two of his most valued possessions to pay off his debts.

Reportedly, the two championship rings from Odom’s 2009 and 2010 wins with the Lakers were sold for $36,600 and $78,000 each. Luckily for Odom, running into the fan who purchased the rings seemed to be a divine meeting. While the former athlete stated during the podcast the fan deserved to have the keepsakes remain in his possession, he’s forever grateful for the kind gesture of returning them to him.
