Cher Reacts To Backlash After Confirming Relationship w/ Amber Rose’s Ex Boyfriend AE: Haters Are Gonna Hate

Music icon Cher is not here for people who have a problem with her new relationship.

The pop star gave a classy response to fans who are seemingly upset by her dating Amber Rose’s ex boyfriend, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards. Cher and AE sparked dating rumors a few days ago after the two were photo’d out together holding hands.

Following speculation that Cher, 76, and rapper/music producer AE, 36, were dating, the “Believe” singer confirmed the rumors via Twitter. Posting a picture of AE with a heart emoji, Cher wrote:

“Alexander” 

Cher also went on to confirm that the pair met at this year’s Paris Fashion Week held back in February of this year.

Social media users quickly responded to post, giving their thoughts and opinions on the new couple. One Cher fan questioned AE’s intentions with the music icon, to which Cher directly responded. The exchange read:

“I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’ve been a fan for so long that I’m immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I’m sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!!!”

To which Cher replied:

“As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance.I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am”

Some other fans received responses to their comments and questions as well. One fan received the loved face emoji as a reply to their question:

“IS THIS YOUR NEW MAN!?”

Others simply shared well thoughts and encouraging words for the new couple.

Though many showed support to Cher and AE, the celebrity pair did receive some backlash. Cher, however, says she’s not going to defend her choices, writing:

“I’m Not Defending us.Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’ Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone”

AE, who shares three-year-old son Slash with model/media personality Amber Rose, has not yet commented publicly on the relationship. Rose and AE dated back in 2019 but split due to AE’s serial cheating, according to Rose. The Slut Walk creator posted a lengthy message about the split, accusing the music producer of sleeping around with at least 12 women. Rose has not publicly commented on her ex’s new relationship either.
