21 Savage Honored w/ His Own Day In Georgia + Rapper Gives Away Gifts To Families As Part Of His Annual Grant-A-Wish Event
It’s time to add ’21 Savage Day’ to the list of holidays celebrated this season!
Congratulations are in order for 21 Savage, real name Shéyaa Abraham-Joseph, who recently was honored with his very own day in Georgia!
According to reports, on Wednesday (Dec. 21) 21 Savage’s ‘Leading By Example Foundation’ held its fourth annual ‘Grant-A-Wish’ event in Stone Mountain, Georgia. During the heart-warming day, the rapper handed out gifts and snacks to 100 local families at the Wade Walker Family YMCA.
21 wasn’t the only person giving out gifts during the event. Georgia State Representative Billy Mitchell was in attendance and held a proclamation ceremony to officially declare December 21st as ’21 Savage Day.’
As you may already know, 21 is initially from London but he moved to Atlanta with his mother at age seven. Reportedly, 21’s latest accolade comes as a tribute to his efforts in the Atlanta community and to the students he’s helped through his ’21 Savage Bank Account’ campaign, which aims to create social awareness around financial literacy. He granted a total of 21 scholarships at $1k each to kick off the initiative.
21 Savage’s rumors girlfriend Latto was also recently honored with her own day in Atlanta! According to reports, earlier this week rapper Latto, born Alyssa Stephens, was presented with the key to the city and a proclamation that Dec. 18 would be named ‘Latto Day.’
