Drake Says Spotify Should Give Artists Milestone Bonuses After He Becomes The First To Surpass 75 Billion Streams On The Platform: Feel Free To Send Me A LeBron-Sized Cheque
Drake wants Spotify to come up off of that celebratory check!
As if his musical legacy hasn’t already been solidified enough, recently, Drake made history as the first artist to ever exceed 75 billion streams on the popular audio service.

A tweet from Chart Data read:
“[Drake] has now surpassed 75 billion streams on Spotify across all credits. He is the first artist in history to hit this milestone.”

However, while the accomplishment has proven to be a huge one for Drake, he’s suggesting that Spotify should be coughing up the coins right along with it. Reportedly, Spotify’s payout for each stream averages around $0.003 – $0.005, but Drizzy would (seemingly) be even more pleased to receive a few extra tokens of appreciation.
The “Jimmy Cooks” lyricist took to his Instagram Story to acknowledge the viral-worthy accolade. He indicated that the company should use money as the motivator and offer artists the same respect as athletes.
Drake wrote,
“We should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive.”
He comically added, tagging the corporation in his post:
“So feel free to send me a [LeBron James] sized cheque. I have enough dinner plates.”

Although the hoopla surrounding Spotify’s revenue has been at an all-time high throughout the years, the Canadian rapper has seen quite the success on the platform.
Drake’s 2016 hit “One Dance” served as Spotify’s first song to reach 1 billion plays, and that same year, he was named their “Most-Streamed Male Artist.”
His latest achievement happened to be through his joint album, ‘Her Loss,’ with fellow rhymer 21 Savage. The duo transcended 1 billion streams only a little over a month after its November 4 release last year.
