Tyler Perry Lands In Top 5 For Forbes’ 2022 List Of Highest-Paid Entertainers
Multi-talented filmmaker Tyler Perry was getting to his money bag last year!
According to Forbes’ annual ranking of the highest-paid entertainers, the 53-year-old secured the #3 spot on the 2022 chart, making him the only billionaire on the list.

Posted as a bio next to his reported $175 million year-end income, Forbes wrote:
“Just call multi-hyphenate Perry a modern Renaissance man. The actor-director-writer-studio mogul had another lucrative year thanks to simultaneous income streams from film, his BET TV shows and the sprawling production backlot he outright owns in Atlanta. In his second year among Forbes’ top 10 highest-paid entertainers, Perry is the list’s sole billionaire with an estimated $1 billion fortune.”

Perry did indeed have a great year as far as production goes. The media mogul is reportedly receiving a whopping $150 million per year plus a 25% equity in his deal with Viacom, which owns the BET network. Shows such as “Sistas” and “Zatima,” written and directed by the entertainer, have steadily continued to gain popularity. Additionally, the creator signed a deal with Amazon Studios to produce four motion picture films.

According to the ranking, Perry beat out mega-popular entertainers in terms of income last year. Other famous celebs who appeared lower on the list include Brad Pitt (#6), Taylor Swift (#9), and Bad Bunny (#10). A notable entertainer who often makes the list, but missed the mark this year is former billionaire Kanye West. If you recall, the musician suffered a huge financial loss last year after losing lucrative deals with GAP and Adidas. This followed a string of very controversial statements about the Jewish community made by the rapper, along with a ton of negative press coverage.

Congratulations to Mr. Perry on a phenomenal earning year!
