Kodak Black Will Enter Drug Treatment Program Following Arrest Warrant, Rapper Allowed To Perform At Rolling Loud California This Weekend
It looks like Kodak Black may have gotten a pass while in court on Tuesday.
Things worked out for Kodak Black during his appearance in court on Tuesday morning (Feb. 28) as the rapper avoided jail time.
As previously reported, a Florida judge signed off on an arrest warrant for Kodak Black last week due to probation policy violations.
In July of last year, Kodak was detained in his home state on possession and trafficking charges after police reportedly found more than 30 oxycodone pills in the vehicle. Subsequently, the music artist was arrested and taken to Broward County jail, posting his $75,000 bond shortly after. As part of his conditional release, however, the “Super Gremlin” artist is required to submit to random drug screenings, two of which were compromised in the last few weeks.

Reportedly, Kodak skipped his February 3rd testing altogether and submitted a positive sample on February 8th. Reports stated that Kodak tested positive for an undisclosed amount of fentanyl and would be held the moment he came in contact with law officials.
However, on Tuesday, his attorney argued that a mix-up with the rapper’s urine sample likely played a role in the positive test results. The man who collected the sample testified that it is possible that an error was made. The judge and prosecution agreed that a hair sample could be taken instead to determine whether or not Kodak Black has drugs in his system. The judge stated that the employee who took the urine sample should not conduct the next drug test.

Ultimately, Judge Barbara Duffy ruled in favor of Kodak Black’s defense team who requested that he should enter a 30-day drug treatment program instead of going to jail. She also granted their request that he enters the program a week from now so he can perform at this weekend’s Rolling Loud festival in California as some of the money earned will go to charity.
Judge Duffy reportedly told the rapper,
“You better get it together.”
Kodak thanked the judge and then asked her if he could have a Jolly Rancher from the bowl on the bench before he left the courtroom.
