Ice-T Says He’s ‘So Much More Connected’ To His Youngest Daughter Than His Other Children, Shares 7-Year-Old Still Sleeps In The Bed w/ Him & His Wife

Fatherhood seems to be a tad easier for Ice-T these days.

The rapper-turned-actor recently opened up about being a father, sharing how his current lifestyle has made a vast difference in his ability to be a present parent.

Reportedly, Ice-T, real name Tracy Marrow, discussed raising a child at the age of 65, explaining that he feels very close to his 7-year-old daughter. The “Law & Order SVU” star welcomed daughter Chanel with wife Coco Austin, 44, back in 2015. Ice-T also has two other children from previous relationships, daughter Letesha, 47, and son Tracy, 31.

Speaking about his youngest daughter during a recent podcast interview, Ice-T stated:

“I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is I’m very conscious of this baby. I had my [oldest] daughter when I was in high school, so I was ripping and running. So, it was presents over presence. I wasn’t there.”

He continued:

 “I’m comfortable [now]. I’m in a cruise pattern. I was there when Coco was pregnant, I went to the hospital and Chanel still sleeps in the bed with us.”

He added:

“I’m so much more connected to her than my other kids.”

Reportedly, the TV star also stated that he was “distracted” while raising his first two children with his career at the time still blooming. Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Ice-T reportedly went on to quote the great boxer Muhammad Ali.

The entertainer shared that having a child “in the second half of his life after 50” is a “reset.” He reportedly stated that having his daughter even older was a “beautiful change,” adding:

“It made me want to live forever. It made me create new goals. It’s the best gift I could ever get.”

Ice-T and Coco often face backlash for sharing their various parenting styles. Coco was previously chastised for sharing a video of Chanel innocently twerking.

She was called out again after revealing she sometimes bathes her daughter in the sink. However, the couple is quick to shoot down critics, with Ice-T often coming to his wife’s defense.

After Coco faced criticism for posting a photo of herself topless next to her young daughter, the actor responded via Twitter, writing:

“Everybody have a Great Day…. Make your haters Sick. Moovin”

Coco previously discussed the backlash she receives during an interview with Tamron Hall where she stated:

“You don’t hear the goodness, you just hear a lot of bad…And I know I’m a good mother.”
