Jay-Z Receives $7.2M Payout Following Legal Battle w/ Fragrance Brand
Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z just became even richer.
According to reports, the Grammy-winning musician recently cashed in a $7.2 million check after a jury ruled in his favor last year, concluding his lawsuit with Parlux Fragrances.

To be exact, the check was reportedly sent to Jay-Z, real name Sean Carter, in the amount of $7,259,061.31. As we covered back in August, the perfume giant was ordered to pay up after unsuccessfully suing the 53-year-old billionaire in 2016. Parlux accused Jay-Z of forgoing several contracted appearances, causing their cologne collaboration Gold Jay-Z to tank in sales. A jury subsequently ruled that neither party was at fault.

After an appeals court trial, however, a court judge reportedly ruled the company actually owed the “4:44” artist back royalties. With the paid amount, including interest and fees, now totaling more than $7 million, the ordeal has finally ended. It seems the big money win comes at a great time for the famed musician.

Jay-Z
As we reported back in May, Jay-Z and his famous wife Beyoncé recently purchased a $200 million mansion in cash. The musical couple is said to be using the home as a weekend place for them and their three children, daughter Blue Ivy, 11, and twins Sir and Rumi (5).
