Drake Wins Over $2M After Betting On NBA Finals Game 5
It looks like his music career isn’t the only thing keeping Drake paid.
The “Hotline Bling” artist (real name Aubrey Graham) took home an estimated $824,785.31 after betting $242,583.91 on the Denver Nuggets to defeat the Miami Heat four games to one in the 2023 NBA Finals.
Drake also placed a $1 million wager on the Nuggets winning the series and won an estimated $1,230,000 in return. The Toronto native won a staggering $2,054,785.31 from those two wagers.
Drake highlighted the enormous payoff in a series of posts shared to his Instagram Story on Monday night (Jun. 12).
Drake posted a photo of Nuggets players Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic along with the caption, “Me and Eddie after Nuggets finally get me a sports win @stake.” The rapper then requested payment with the words “[Canadian flag emoji] CASH ME” and a still image of Murray exhaling in satisfaction at the conclusion of Game 5.

Nikola Jokic won the Finals MVP award for his outstanding performance. With their 94-89 series victory, the Nuggets captured their first NBA title in team history.

Drake is no stranger to placing high-priced bets, though he doesn’t always have such good luck. He placed a $2 million cash wager on Israel Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira in the UFC championship match in November 2022, suffering a significant loss.
The Canadian rapper reportedly lost more than $800,000 when he gambled for Barcelona to beat Real Madrid in a soccer match in October.
And just a few months ago in February, he lost big after betting $400,000 that YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul would defeat Tommy Fury. Jake Paul instead experienced the first loss of his professional career.
