Monica Issues Apology After Jumping Into Crowd To Confront A Man Who She Says Hit A Woman During Her Detroit Concert: ‘Is You Out Yo F***ing Mind?!’
R&B singer Monica, also notably referred to as Goonica, was not here for what was going down at a recent show!
The 42-year-old songstress hopped off the stage during a concert in Detroit to remove a man she seemingly witnessed hit a woman while she was performing.

Concert attendees caught the moment on camera, showing Monica, born Monica Denise Arnold, bring attention the situation. According to a report, the musician initially paused the show after witnessing a few audience members getting aggressive with each other, and waited for one man she specifically called out to be removed. Not too much longer after, it seems the man struck a nearby woman who was part of the altercation. Monica immediately called out in distress, stating:
“Noooooooo. Don’t you hit her like that!”
Yikes ? #Monica had to check a man in the audience during her performance after he allegedly hit the female that he was with. *Thoughts ??* pic.twitter.com/VVldvB2ip2

Adding:
“Listen, listen ….If y’all don’t get this n***a up out of here we don’t even f***ing play like that n*gga is you out yo f***ing mind?!”
Directly after, the “Angel Of Mine” artist got off the stage and jumped right into the crowd, walking up to the individual before addressing him again, stating:
“You don’t hit n f***ing lady like that….f**k a** n***a”

As the video began to make blog headlines, Monica stopped by TheShadeRoom to address what happened and offer everyone another apology for her “actions”. She wrote in the comments section:
“I apologized there & I’m apologizing here for my actions but no one would take action ! I was so triggered , I watched & she didn’t appear to even know him! It appeared to be about space during a packed concert! He punched her with ALL his strength! My intentions were to prevent her from being hit again & she wasn’t ! I asked for help, it fell on deaf ears! It was like seeing my mother or an aunt be assaulted!! This woman was 50+ I pray she’s ok! Happy Sunday to everyone!”

Though Monica felt the need to offer her apologies it seems fans felt she really didn’t owe anyone that much. Many thanked her for intervening, pointing out that it’s more than what many other artists may have done. If you recall Houston rapper Travis Scott came under fire for not intervening during his 2021 Astroworld Festival, where audience members began fainting due to the overcrowding and heat exhaustion and eventually stampeding – killing 10 people and injuring hundreds others.

While Monica’s situation may not have been as extreme, it seems internet users were grateful that she stepped in when someone was in danger.
