Jamie Foxx is reportedly ready to take a major step in life with his girlfriend, but his friends believe he’s making a huge mistake.

According to RadarOnline, film/TV star Jamie Foxx is thinking about walking down the aisle with his girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp sooner rather than later. However, Jamie Foxx’s friends fear the actor is moving too fast and not giving proper thought to the idea of marriage. Sources close to Foxx said the 55-year-old is ready to buy a ring and exchange vows with Alyce Huckstepp, noting his health scare back in April may have prompted his decision.

As previously reported, over the summer, Foxx’s daughter Corrine revealed he was hospitalized due to a “medical complication” while filming in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent weeks in the ICU and continued rehabilitation care at a Chicago-based center, according to reports. After remaining out of the spotlight for several months due to his unknown health scare, sources said the experience reminded the entertainer of “his own mortality” — seemingly causing him to think more about marriage.

An insider shared,

“Nearly dying has really woken him up to his own mortality. Now he’s very aware it could all end in an instant.”

Friends of the “Ray” star reportedly said he was alarmed over his hospitalization and only wants to settle down with Alyce Huckstepp because she’s his current partner. The insider continued,

“He’s started saying he wants to settle down. It’s freaking out everyone in his life. They’re worried he’s going to marry Alyce just because she’s the one he happens to be with now.”

Despite Foxx’s wish to tie the knot with Huckstepp, reports claim his previous hesitation for marriage is the cause for his split from his ex, actress Katie Holmes, in 2019. The insider added,

“Now he’s gung-ho about making Alyce his wife and people think he’s being impetuous.”
