Is it truly over for Jeezy and Jeannie Mai?

If you didn’t know, earlier this month, news broke that rapper Jeezy filed for divorce from television host Jeannie Mai.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai reportedly began dating in 2019 and married in 2021. The pair gave birth to their baby girl, Monaco, in January 2022.

According to court documents, the “Put On” lyricist made the filing on September 14, and their “irretrievably broken” union is the cause for the split. However, exclusives from Atlanta Black Star suggested that Jeezy could’ve started the process as early as June of this year.

Additionally, there’s said to be “no hope for reconciliation,” but Jeezy does want joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. A prenup is also in place.

Since the unfortunate reveal, many rumors have swirled in regard to the exact reason behind the sudden separation. A source told an outlet that Jeezy and Mai were supposedly at odds due to not seeing eye-to-eye on “certain family values and expectations.”

It was alleged that the challenges started to affect their marriage. When speaking of their relationship, the unidentified individual said,

“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met.”

Another insider claimed that Mai is “devastated” following Jeezy’s decision to pull the plug, and she’s willing to work it out for the sake of their family dynamic.

They expressed,

“Jannie wants her marriage to work and wants her family to be one solid unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.”

The person added:

“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced; this was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”

As the breakup has continued to unfold before the world, there have been other accusations of Mai, who formerly co-hosted ‘Access Hollywood,’ even stepping out on Jeezy with her colleague, ‘Saved by the Bell’ star Mario Lopez. But the allegation was quickly debunked by parties close to the daytime phenomenon.

As of now, Jeezy and 44-year-old Mai have (seemingly) been radio silent on the matter, with the exception of a now-viral Instagram caption of Jeezy’s that was made around the time of the initial divorce reports.

Under a recent photo of himself, the 45-year-old wrote,

“Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.”

Despite the hoopla, Jeezy has still been wearing his wedding band, though–leading most to believe that the two hadn’t “officially” called it quits just yet.

The celebrated musician appeared at REVOLT WORLD this past weekend, and the big piece on his ring finger was very visible.

Some of the public suspect that hope may be on the horizon for the former love birds, while others think it’s just a media stunt (possibly) gone wild.

An X user said,

“I really don’t understand how in this day and age, y’all have not stopped speaking on peoples relationships. I just saw Jeezy on Saturday and that man 100% still had on his wedding ring. Y’all do not know these people! Mind your business.”

A fellow member added:

“Fun Fact: Jeezy and Jeanie Mai are NOT getting a divorce. Rumours spread to create a buzz to help with failing concert ticket sales! Jeezy’s Tour tickets have been on sale since August, with none sold out. The Rapper posted a picture on his Instagram with wedding ring on.”
