Update: Jeezy Breaks Silence After Filing For Divorce From Jeannie Mai: ‘The Decision To End This Chapter In My Life Was Not Made Impulsively’
Update#3: (Oct. 19, 2023): Jeezy is finally speaking on his failed marriage with Jeannie Mai.
The rapper shocked the world by filing for divorce from the media personality in September. Outside of a cryptic Instagram post about not focusing on those who are not coming with him, Jeezy, born Jay Jenkins, has remained quiet on their breakup. However, it seems he’s now ready to speak on it. In a statement released to us today (Oct. 19), he said,
“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”
He continued,
“Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves. During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”
Update#2: (Sept. 21, 2023): Jeannie Mai isn’t letting her marriage go without a fight!
Last week her husband, rapper Jeezy, set the internet on fire by filing for divorce. Reportedly, Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, said in his divorce petition that the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”
Despite this, Jeannie Mai is still hopeful that they can work things out. According to a new report from Page Six, the media personality is absolutely “devastated” their marriage is over and she “wants her family unit back.” An insider close to the estranged couple shared,
“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce.”
Allegedly,
“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
The source added,
“Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.”
Update#1: (Sept. 20, 2023): We now know why rapper Jeezy filed for divorce from his wife of over two years, media personality Jeannie Mai.
As previously reported, last week Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, shocked the world by submitting legal documents to the court to officially end his marriage to Jeannie Mai. Rumors surrounding their breakup only became crazier when the “I Luv It” artist posted a cryptic message on Instagram that said,
“Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.”
An insider recently shared why things between the former love birds went south. According to reports, a source close to the pair said they weren’t on the same page when it came to “certain family values and expectations.”
The insider continued,
“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met.”
Their alleged differences must be major because Jeezy’s divorce petition reportedly noted the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”
