Update: Tyrese Gibson’s Request To Have New Judge Oversee His Divorce Case Has Been Denied, Entertainer Unable To Prove ‘Personal Bias On The Part Of The Court’
Update: (Dec. 06, 2023): Tyrese Gibson will have to accept that Judge Kevin Farmer is overseeing his divorce case.
As previously reported, last month the entertainer tried, once again, to have Judge Farmer removed from his case, essentially claiming that the public official was biased. Unfortunately for Tyrese, his allegations weren’t enough to have his legal battle moved to another judge. According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Tyrese’s motion has been denied. The order reportedly stated,
“because [Tyrese’s] motion and the supporting affidavit are both untimely and devoid of any facts purporting to show personal bias on the part of the Court, and instead contain bare conclusions and opinions as to the Court’s views based on the Court’s judicial rulings, [Tyrese’s] motion is DENIED.”
Original Story: (Nov. 21, 2023): Tyrese Gibson is once again blasting the judge presiding over his divorce case.
According to reports, Tyrese Gibson recently filed a legal complaint against Judge Kevin Farmer over the way the public official has been handling his legal battle against his ex Samantha Lee. This may come as no shock, as this isn’t the first time Tyrese Gibson has expressed ill feelings for the judge. As previously reported, last September Tyrese requested a new judge, arguing that Farmer was biased. Then in April of this year, Judge Farmer held the “2 Fast 2 Furious” star in contempt of court for reportedly refusing to pay Samantha Lee what was owed in back child support payments.
Fast forward to this week, the entertainer has (again) filed legal documents aimed at getting Farmer removed from his case. Reportedly, in his new filing, Tyrese claims that Farmer ordered him to come up with a $450,000 bond within 10 days in connection with his appeal of an order in the case. Tyrese says he had plans to explain during the next scheduled hearing that he couldn’t pay the 6-figure bond due to Hollywood strikes putting a pause on his working abilities, which had a direct impact on his income.
However, Farmer abruptly canceled the court hearing a few days before the actor had a chance to share his financial situation. According to Tyrese, this is a clear example of how much Farmer has it out for him.
Tyrese and Samantha Lee married in 2017 and welcomed their daughter into the world the following year. In December 2020, they announced that they were divorcing.
