Update: Jonathan Majors Found Guilty Of Assault & Harassment Of Ex-Girlfriend Grace Jabbari
Update: (Dec 18, 2023): The jury has finally reached a verdict in Jonathan Majors’ domestic violence case.
According to reports, the actor has been found guilty of one count of harassment in the second degree and misdemeanor assault in the third degree. However, he was acquitted of two other counts of assault and aggravated harassment.
As previously reported, in March of this year, Majors was accused of physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in the backseat of an SUV following a verbal dispute they had over flirty text messages he received from another woman.
Majors has maintained his innocence this entire time and even accused Jabbari of being the aggressive one the night of the incident. The 34-year-old is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 6. He faces up to one year behind bars.
Original Story: (Dec 14, 2023): Jonathan Majors definitely has at least one person in his corner.
Today prosecutors and the defense gave closing arguments in Jonathan Majors’ assault case. The 34-year-old is facing charges of assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury, assault in the third degree recklessly causing physical injury, aggravated harassment in the second degree, and harassment in the second degree for allegedly physically harming his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari following a verbal dispute they had back in March. If convicted Jonathan Majors is looking at a year behind bars.
Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway claimed that the unfortunate situation was about “control, domination, manipulation and abuse.”
Galaway added that “the defendant didn’t hesitate to use physical violence” when Grace Jabbari, 30, found questionable texts on Majors’ phone. As you may recall, their altercation reportedly stemmed from the professional dancer calling her ex out for receiving flirtatious text messages from another woman.
However, Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, claimed he was a victim of discrimination. Chaudhry reportedly told the jury as she became emotional,
“Why are you here?…You are here to end this nightmare for Jonathan Majors.”
While she spoke Majors wiped away tears from his face with the back of his coat sleeve, according to reports.
His girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, 42, also appeared to be overwhelmed with emotions and was reportedly seen wiping tears away from her own eyes with a tissue. Chaudhry continued, claiming the arresting police officers deemed Majors the abuser because of the color of his skin.
“They took a look at Mr. Majors and made up their minds. They decided who was the victim and who was the criminal, and then they asked Grace if Mr. Majors had done this to her.”
At this time, the final verdict on the four charges has not yet been given by the jury.
