Issa Rae’s TV Series ‘Rap Sh!t’ Canceled Ahead Of Season 3
Sad news for fans of Issa Rae.
The NAACP Image Award winner popular series “Rap Sh!t” has been canceled. According to reports, a representative for the series network Max released a statement on the matter that said,
“We are extremely grateful to Issa Rae for creating Rap Sh!t, a one-of-a-kind comedy with compelling social commentary that reached viewers in a way only Issa’s talents can accomplish.”
The statement continued,
“A huge thank you to Issa, showrunner Syreeta Singleton and the teams at Hoorae and 3 Arts Entertainment for introducing us to Shawna and Mia, a duo whose journey fans have been invested in and who they have continued to root for through everything. We’ll never get Seduce and Scheme out of our heads and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Rap Sh!t” first dropped in the summer of 2022 and, after a delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the series returned for season two in November of last year. The series centers around two best friends – portrayed by Aida Osman and KaMillion – who are actively working on catching their big break as rappers in the Miami area.
Actress Jonica Booth, who played Chastity Killens aka Duke on the show, seemingly addressed the cancelation in a video shared to her IG Story. In the short clip, she expressed,
“I’m hurt, my heart.”
She added,
“You ever know something but it’s different when you just see it with you’re own two eyes.”
“Rap Sh!t” cancelation follows a few other pulled series at Max. At the time of this report, it doesn’t seem that Issa Rae or other cast members have publicly reacted to the news.
