Sheryl Lee Ralph was moved by Whoopi Goldberg‘s invitation to grace the screen together once again.
During Sheryl Lee Ralph’s appearance on The View Wednesday, she and Whoopi Goldberg marked the 30th anniversary of the cult classic Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. Whoopi Goldberg led the sequel as Deloris Van Cartier, while Lee Ralph starred as Florence Watson, the mother of Rital Louise Watson (portrayed by Lauryn Hill).
On the show, the two reflected on their time in Hollywood and other projects they’ve appeared in together, and Goldberg revealed that The View’s producers are working on getting the cast back together for a reunion. Lee Ralph responded without hesitation,
“Oh, I would love to.”
Goldberg took things a step further and told the Moesha alum,
“I will also do this — We’re in the process of putting together 3. Will you come to be part of it? Whatever it is.”
A stunned Lee Ralph appeared to be overwhelmed by the ask as she was moved to tears.
Goldberg also previously said she hopes Keke Palmer will be a part of the Tyler Perry-produced movie, along with Lizzo and Nicki Minaj.

Keke Palmer made it clear she’s all in.
“My reaction was, ‘Whoopi, where do I sign on the dotted line? Because Whoopi, I’m ready. I’m ready for whatever that you need from me.’ OK, Whoopi is an EGOT winner. Whoopi had her own one-woman show. Whoopi hosted the Oscars. Whoopi is everything! So for her to mention me for the ‘Sister Act,’ I mean, I’m here, I’m there for whatever that needs to be done, just call me up. It was awesome. And I’m here for Lizzo and the Nicki Minaj of it all as well.”
She reiterated,
“Yes. I’m here for this.”
Whoopi Goldberg has also said she wants Dame Maggie Smith to reprise her role as the Reverend Mother.
