Charles Barkley Says He Will ‘Punch’ Any Black Person He Sees Wearing T-Shirt Featuring Donald Trump’s Mugshot: ‘I Will Bail Myself Out & Go Celebrate
Charles Barkley is fiercely pushing back on Black people who support Donald Trump.
During his CNN program “King Charles” with Gayle King on Monday night (March 4), NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley issued a cautionary statement regarding former President Donald Trump’s comments claiming Black individuals favored him more after his charges for attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
In case you missed it, during a recent gathering arranged by the Black Conservative Federation, Donald Trump proceeded to boast about Black individuals wearing t-shirts with his mug shot printed on them. The former U.S. President stated,
“You know who embraced it more than anybody else? The Black population.”
He continued,
“You see Black people walking around with my mugshot.”
While chatting with his co-host Gayle King, Charles Barkley expressed his strong disapproval, stating,
“If I see a Black person walking around with a Trump mug shot, I’m gonna punch him in the face. I mean that sincerely.”
Barkley elaborated that he perceives Trump’s remarks as disrespectful to the entire Black community because they equate his arrest with the centuries-long history of discrimination experienced by Black people.
When Gayle King suggested that Barkley might face legal consequences if he acted on his statement, he remained steadfast and even intensified his stance.
“I will bail myself out and go celebrate.”
The former NBA star added,
“I would have got up and walked out. That was an insult to all Black people.”
As previously reported, on August 24, 2023, following indictments for racketeering and associated offenses, Donald Trump turned himself over to authorities at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, where officials captured his mug shot. He was soon released on a $200,000 bond.
