‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown Sparks Mixed Reactions After Admitting To Being A ‘Karen’ & Leaving Negative Reviews Under A Fake Name

Actress Millie Bobby Brown has the internet buzzing after admitting to having “Karen” tendencies.

During a recent interview, the 20-year-old revealed she leaves negative reviews under a fake name when she has bad service experiences, and social media users are condemning and defending her actions.

Millie Bobby Brown is seemingly the one who kicked off the topic, asking the podcast hosts if they leave online reviews. After both hosts confirm they don’t, the Stranger Things star confessed that she does leave reviews and has a fake name she uses, stating:

“I think it’s important, you know? Here’s the thing: My whole life is people criticizing me, so I’m gonna give it back to you sometimes.”

The actress went on to recall two specific times she felt compelled to leave critical reviews. In one instance, Brown said she was staying at a hotel with fiancé Jake Bongiovi and was taken back when the clerk asked them to pay ahead of their visit. Explaining the situation, she stated:

“Once, we were at a hotel, and the woman was pulling my fiancé aside like, ‘We need to settle payment’ or whatever, and I’m just like, ‘Yeah, we will, but at the end of our stay, like we’re still staying here.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, but you could settle it now,’ and I was like, ‘But I don’t want to!'”

Adding that the subsequent review she left was along the lines of:

“I really think that you should encourage guests to complete transaction of payment at the end of their stay.”

Additionally, Brown claimed she left a review of a store worker who was “no help” at all when asked to assist an elderly woman. After the podcast hosts heard the entertainer’s account of leaving negative reviews, one of them asked, “Millie, are you a Karen,” to which the actress responded:

“OK, I’m a Karen. And I do think it’s important to know where you went wrong, and always room for improvement.”

As you may know,  a “Karen” usually refers to an individual who weaponizes their tears and complaints to receive the treatment/service they deem fair. While Brown’s scenarios seem to differ in a sense, as she is the one who received poor service in her stories, that didn’t stop social media from sharing their varied opinions of her comments. Some slammed the actress, calling her actions “entitled” and inconsiderate of people who might lose their jobs. Others praised the TV and film star, arguing the importance of constructive criticism.
