Third Suspect Arrested In Connection To Kansas City Chiefs Parade Shooting, Allegedly Bragged In Text Messages w/ Other Suspects About Shooting Someone
A third suspect had been detained for his alleged involvement in the fatal Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting.
According to reports, 20-year-old Terry Young was detained this past Wednesday (March 20th) after police tracked him down through surveillance footage, social media accounts, and cell phone records.
Authorities stated that surveillance footage showed one person having a heated exchange with another when they pulled out a gun. Terry Young allegedly spotted the firearm, walked up to the individual, and began shooting. The Kansas City native was identified because he was allegedly wearing the same unique green and yellow teddy bear backpack he had on at the parade in earlier videos posted to his YouTube channel.
Additionally, cell phone records obtained from two of the other suspects reportedly reveal a group chat with a text that is believed to be from Young that read,
“I dropped dat n**** first shot.”
Police say they also discovered a Facebook page that belongs to Young, which allegedly showed him boasting about firearms and hanging out with the other shooting suspects.
As we’ve previously covered, several other individuals have already been arrested in connection to the shooting that took the life of Lisa Lopez-Galvan and injured more than 20 others. Lyndell Mays, 23, Dominic Miller, 18, as well as two unidentified juveniles all remain behind bars as the investigation continues.
Young was charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action. Prosecutors are seeking his bond, like the other suspects, to be set at $1 million.
