LSU Star Angel Reese Confirms It Was Not UCLA Head Coach Cori Close Who She Told “Watch Your Mouth”, But An Assistant Who Was ‘Talking A Little Crazy’
Basketball star Angel Reese somewhat opened up about her recent post-game confrontation.
The LSU player confirmed that she did in fact have a heated moment with one of her rival team’s staffers, but clarified it was not with head coach Cori Close.

Angel Reese was asked about the incident following LSU’s 78-69 win against UCLA this past Saturday (March 30th). During the traditional post-game handshake, Reese can be seen tensely warning an individual on the opposing team to “watch your mouth”. Many suspected the 21-year-old ushered the remark to UCLA head coach Kori Close, who one report claims was “animated” while speaking with refs allegedly about Reese’s on the court actions before the hooper fouled out in the last 30 seconds.

However, Reese stated in a subsequent interview that it was actually not Close who she was speaking to but rather someone else, stating:
“Oh no she told me good game, it was another coach that was talking a little crazy.”
Angel Reese said that a UCLA assistant coach was "talking a little crazy" during the LSU win but declined to answer a follow-up question on the matter.

When probed further, Reese declined to give any more details about the matter quickly moving on the next question. This isn’t the first time Reese has made headlines for her actions during the heat of the championship tournament. If you recall, the athlete shot to fame last season after making a controversial gesture to rival Iowa State player Caitlin Clark as the opposing teams competed for the women’s collegiate championship.

The incident ultimately brought more attention and fandom for Reese and the game, as many became invested in the stories behind the women athletes playing. Resse and Clark’s teams are destined to meet again soon as they both advance in the Sweet 16 tournament. It has not been reported than anyone from UCLA has commented on the matter at this time.
