Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Takes Updated Sex Offender Registry Photo After Completing 120-Day House Arrest

The husband of rap star Nicki Minaj commemorated the end of his house arrest with a new photo on the Sex Offender registry.

According to a report from Radar Online, Kenneth Petty was required to upload a new image for the watchlist, shortly after completing a house arrest sentence.

The photo surfaced on California’s Sex Offender registry, also referred to as the Megan’s Law Website, which requires all convicted sex offenders to keep an updated image, home address, and summary of their crimes. Kenneth Petty, who turns 46 on Sunday (April 7), posed for his new picture in a denim shirt with a white tank underneath. Under offenses, it’s noted that the hubby of rap superstar Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, 41, was convicted of attempted rape by force or fear.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Kenneth Petty’s conviction stems from a 1994 charge when a then 16-year-old Jennifer Hough accused him of sexually assaulting her at knifepoint. A then 17-year-old Petty initially denied the allegation, but ultimately accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to attempted rape, serving four years behind bars. The incident has since followed him, and has been a recurring headlining topic since his 2019 marriage to Nicki Minaj. The couple also share a young son, nicknamed Papa Bear, whom they welcomed in 2020.

Other than a back-and-forth legal battle with Hough, who sued Minaj and Petty back in 2021 for harassment, claiming they offered her $500,000 to recant her statement about the attack, Petty has somewhat managed to stay clear of any more serious criminal trouble. However, the celebrity’s husband did find himself getting hit with house arrest last year for probation violation, after making public threats to Cardi B’s husband Offset.

The report notes that Petty recently completed his house arrest, and is once again free to roam about in public. It seems the true celebration of Petty’s freedom came in the form of an adorable family night out. This past Saturday (March 31st), video from a Knicks game shined a spotlight on Minaj sitting alongside Petty, with their son Papa Bear excitedly waving to the cameras.
