Deion Sanders On Daughter Deiondra’s Pregnancy: ‘I Haven’t Digested That Whole Thing Yet…I Want To Make Sure She’s Straight Emotionally & Psychologically’

Deion Sanders is still getting used to the idea of being a grandfather.

In an interview published Wednesday (April 10), the former NFL star, 56, spoke out for the first time on his daughter Deiondra Sanders’ pregnancy, confessing,

“I haven’t digested that whole thing yet.”

He said that “not one thing” excites him about his new role, however, he is still “proud” of his daughter, 31.

“I’m proud of my baby that she’s at least waited until her thirties to give me this gift of life. I’m happy about that, but I want to make sure she’s straight emotionally and psychologically as well.”

Deiondra Sanders revealed last month that she is going to be a mom.

In Deiondra Sanders’ announcement, she shared that she found out she was pregnant after facing lots of health issues and being told she had a “slim chance” of getting pregnant and carrying to term.

She did not share who the father of her child is. However, she had been dating singer Jacquees for two years before they hit a rough patch earlier this year when his former girlfriend Dreezy said he was trying to get back with her. Despite the claims (and a subsequent online feud), Jacquees and Deiondra Sanders appeared to be in St. Barths together when Deiondra announced she was expecting.
