Amber Rose Sets The Record Straight On Chris Rock Dating Rumors & Viral Photo: ‘We Met For Coffee’

Amber Rose is back to clear the air on her personal life… yet again!

As previously reported, last December, rumor had it that famed model/rapper Amber Rose and actor/comedian Chris Rock were an item.

The chatter came about shortly after paparazzi spotted Amber Rose and Chris Rock strolling through the streets of New York City together. Upon the images hitting the internet, sources speculated that Rose and Chris Rock were “headed back to” his apartment.

During a recent sit-down alongside friend Angela White (aka Blac Chyna), when asked if she and Rock were on a romantic outing in the viral pictures, she shared,

“It was not [a date].”

Rose continued by stating that it was nothing more than a friendly linkup between two longtime buds. She told the reporter:

“I’m not a very open person with my friendships. I don’t post a lot on social media. I like to keep my friendships very private. I’ve been friends with Chris Rock for like 13 years.”

As far as how they came to know each other, she added,

“Just from a long time ago.”

Rose furthered:

“I was in New York, and I’m like, ‘Yo! Let’s go meet for coffee.’ We met for coffee, we talked some crap to each other, [and] he made me laugh ’cause he’s hilarious!”

With a shrug of the shoulders, she stated,

“That’s our friendship. You know?” 

Additionally, Rose cited that she never showcased her bond with Rock before because she didn’t want to paint a narrative that the media could run with.

She concluded:

“We were not holding hands, and we were obviously very separate [in the photos] And it just becomes unfair sometimes.”

As for if things will ever leave the friend zone between Rock and Rose, it looks like chances are slim. According to Rose, she gives Rock advice on his love life, and she’s happily single.

Speculation of a romance dates back to Rock’s 2017 comment under the 40-year-old’s Instagram photo, which allegedly indicated that the ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ creator’s eyes had been on Rose for a while.

Under a cheeky flick of herself, Rose wrote in the caption,

“When he’s over 6’2, has a big D*ck, and a lot of money…”

A now-59-year-old Rock flirtily said in the years-old reply:

“What about 2 outta 3.”

However, the ‘Slut Walk’ founder briefly shut down the gossip during an interview with Tamron Hall in January of this year.

She explained to the talk show host,

“Right now, I love myself, I love my kids. I’m not thinking about no man, Tamron. Not right now.”

The ‘Top Five’ actor was married to ex-publicist Malaak Compton for nearly two decades before they split in 2014. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.

Rose was infamously known for her publicized relationship with rapper Kanye West from 2008-2010. She wed her first baby’s father, rapper Wiz Khalifa in 2013 but the pair ultimately called it quits. In 2019, the Philadelphia native welcomed a child with music executive Alexander “A.E.” Edwards.
