Update: (May 9, 2024): Gary Owen’s Ex-wife Kenya Duke wants to be removed from the group chat, immediately!

The famed comic confirmed during his newly aired Shannon Sharpe interview that he recently welcomed twins with his fiancée. During the candid chat, he also shared that his relationship with the children he shares with his ex Kenya is (still) nonexistent. He added,

“I think not having a relationship with my kids…it sucks too cause my kids, they don’t know them. They don’t have no relationship with [the twins.]”

Seemingly addressing what he had to say, Kenya shared a text post to her Instagram that said,

“My growth is not feeling the need to address mistruths anymore. The grace and kindness, I have shown you, is the space to tell lies and false narratives for sympathy and attention without correcting. You are a great storyteller…sometimes I get caught up in your versions.”

Tagging her ex-husband directly, she added in the caption,

“it has been 3 years. I am always kind and cool with you. I purposely, never make it awkward. I never bother you. I have given you my suggestions on the situation but you don’t respect their boundaries.
Which is why you discussed this again on social media. I don’t know what else to do to help you.”

The jokester recently revealed that he quietly welcomed 9-month-old twins and spoke about his complicated feelings about the matter, considering his strained relationship with his ex Kenya Duke, and their shared children.

Gary Owen opened up about the newest additions to his family during a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay. After the podcast host mentioned rumors that Gary Owen recently had twins, the comic responded:

“D**n you know everything…yea, I did.”

In Gary Owen fashion, the actor joked that one of the twin children is black and the other is white, highlighting that one has blue eyes and pink skin features while the other has brown eyes and melanated skin. The conversation took a more serious turn after Shannon Sharpe asked the movie star whether or not he even wanted to become a new dad again. Sharing his complicated feelings about it, Owen stated:

“Didn’t think I wanted to be a father again….not having a relationship with my [other] kids…you know….I hate that thing of like ‘Imma do it right this time’ cause…I don’t think I did it wrong the first time,”

He continued:

“I was very conscious of how I spoke to them, how we disciplined them…that I never put them down. All the sports and stuff they played, I was the fun dad…I wouldn’t say I did it wrong but it’s two fold…I think not having a relationship with my kids…it sucks too cause my kids, they don’t know them. They don’t have no relationship with them.”

As you may know, Owen has been vocal about his estranged relationship with his children Austin and Kennedy, who he shares with his ex-wife Kenya Duke. During their marriage, Owen also parented Duke’s eldest son Emilio from a previous relationship. The comedian has claimed that ever since divorcing Duke in 2021 following nearly two decades of marriage, his college-aged kids refuse to speak to him, and their relationship hasn’t been the same.

The family has been involved in quite a few internet confrontations, with both Duke and Owen blaming each other for the children’s disdain for their father. Duke claimed that Owen financially deserted her and their kids the minute they separated, while Owen accused his ex of manipulating the kids cutting him out of their lives. In November of last year, the comic revealed that it’s been over three years since he’s spoken to his children with Duke.

Owen has since moved on, however, and is now engaged to a woman named Bri Johnson who he welcomed twins Royal and Rome with in July of last year. It does not appear that Duke nor her children with Owen have reacted to his recent remarks at this time.
