Tamar Braxton Apologizes To Fiancé Over Interview Where He’s Called ‘Colonel Sanders’: ‘You Felt Wronged, I Gotta Respect That’

An apology can go a long way.

Earlier today (May 29), Tamar Braxton took to her Instagram Story and shared an apology to her fiancé, JeremyJRRobinson, for an interview where she briefly discussed their relationship with TV producer/host Carlos King.

The 47-year-old singer wrote,

“Hurting the person that you love is far worse than being hurt BY the one you love. I’m new to true love and loving myself.”

She continued,

“I wish for the opportunity to give an apology and be forgiven for it ALL … No matter how much I feel like I was right.. you felt wronged. And i gotta respect that. I’m not embarrassed for being open about how I feel, I’m embarrassed of how I made you feel. I’m sorry.”

This follows a live interview Tamar Braxton did with Carlos King. When the subject of her fiancé, JR, was brought up, Tamar Braxton stated to the crowd,

“Y’all do not like that man…”

Tamar and Carlos King erupted in laughter, while the audience chuckled along.

Carlos then appeared to reference JR’s slick gray hair, beard, and mustache, and jokingly said,

“We gotta talk about Colonel Sanders, honey.”

However, after Tamar said “He do not look like that,” she quickly ended the segment on her love life, revealing

“JR and I decided that we would keep out relationship completely private. No matter what the status is.”

Soon after the clip of the interview made its rounds on social media, JR took to Instagram to express his disappointment with some of the perceived shady comments and threatened to tell his “side of the story.” In since-removed text posts, he said,

JR stated,

“I CAN ONLY BE THROWN UNDER THE BUS AND NOT DEFENDED FOR SO MUCH LONGER. I’LL BE COLONEL SANDERS AND GIVE YOU SOME CHICKEN TO EAT WITH MY STORY. KEEP POKING THE BEAR!”

He continued,

“A MAN CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH. I ALWAYS WANT TO PROTECT – EVEN WHEN WE AREN’T TOGETHER, BUT STOP ALLOWING INDIRECTS TO THROW ME UNDER THE BUS. YOUR SHADE CREATES MORE UNCERTAINTY AND YOUR PEOPLE THRIVE ON STATING WHAT YOU NEVER SAY.”

For now, JR is committed to…

“Thinking, speaking, and feeling all things positive.”
