Ariana Grande Explains Why Her Vocal Tone Changes When Speaking Following Criticism: ‘I’ve Always Done This’
Ariana Grande is setting the record straight!
The entertainer, known for having a softer voice, has defended herself against claims that her speaking tone is fake. Rumors surrounding Ariana Grande’s everyday talking voice are nothing new, however, her recent interview on You star Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast has reignited the criticism flame. A short part of the hours-long conversation went viral as viewers questioned why Ariana Grande’s voice noticeably changed from a lower to higher pitched sound during the interview.
One Tiktoker even posted the moment to the video-sharing app, captioning the post “The voice change??”

The video, which has over 6.1 million views and almost 10,000 comments, soon caught Ariana’s attention. Explaining the voice change, Ariana wrote,
“habit (speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health :) i intentionally change my vocal placement (high / low) often depending on how much singing i’m doing — i’ve always done this BYE”

Ariana isn’t the only celeb who has different talking voices. As previously reported, in September 2020, socialite Paris Hilton revealed her real voice to the public. Explaining why she talked in a fake higher-pitched tone for years, she said,
“This entire time, I have been playing a character, so the world has never truly known who I am.”
And added,
“The real me is someone who is actually brilliant. I’m not a dumb blonde, I’m just really good at pretending to be one.”

Rapper/YouTuber DDG has also claimed to speak differently than his actual voice when in public.
