Following one of her flips, Simone Biles landed with too much force and fell off the beam. She managed to get back on and complete her routine with her signature dismount.

Italy’s Alice D’Amato won the gold with a score of 14.366, while China’s Yaqin Zhou took silver and Italy’s Manila Esposito earned bronze.

Simone Biles’ fellow American Suni Lee, who performed second, also fell off the beam and finished in sixth place with a score of 13.100.

Suni Lee expressed her disappointment after the event, saying,

“I would say it definitely didn’t go how I wanted it to. I don’t even know what happened in my series. I thought it was straight on and then all of a sudden I was on the ground.”

Although this was Suni Lee’s final event of the Olympics, Simone Biles finished the 2024 Olympics strong, winning a silver medal during her floor routine. Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade won gold, and Team USA star Jordan Chiles won bronze.
