Halle Berry Says Van Hunt Is The First Boyfriend She Became ‘Madly In Love’ With Before They Ever Had Sex

Actress Halle Berry is opening up about her whirlwind romance with singer/song writer Van Hunt.

The Oscar winner shared that she has a personally unprecedented love story about falling for the Grammy winner, which she exclaimed was a “magical” experience.

During a recent cover interview, Halle Berry, 58, got candid about the beginning of her relationship with Van Hunt, 54, stating:

“It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex.”

She added:

“That has never happened to me, ever…Talk about one of those life-changing, beautiful experiences. It was magical, just magical.”

Halle Berry has been smitten with Van Hunt ever since the two began dating back in 2020. As previously covered, Berry has gushed over her love for Hunt in a number of interviews and sparked engagement rumors earlier this year after referring to his mother as her mother-in-law in a social media post.

Elsewhere in the interview, the “Never Let Go” star revealed that it was actually Hunt’s brother who set them up following Berry’s former tumultuous relationships. In case you’re unfamiliar, the the movie star was previously married to David Justice (1993 – 1997), Eric Benét (2001 – 2005) and Olivier Martinez (2013 – 2016), the latter of which she shares son Maceo-Robert with. She also famously dated Gabriel Aubry, who she shares daughter Nahla Ariela, with.

Taking some of blame in the way her previous relationships turned out, Berry stated in the interview:

“I created my career. I was intentional about that…But I had never been that intentional with my relationships. I was loosey goosey with that.”

“You have to be clear with the universe [or] any old thing will find you. … The minute I started to feel like I understood myself and what I had been doing wrong, Van’s brother, who I had known for many years, came to me and said, ‘You should meet my brother.’”

“The nature of the way this happened, I have a real belief that this is it. This is my person.”
