GNX features uncredited guest appearances from SZA & Kamasi Washington. Production was handled by Jack Antonoff and Sounwave, among others. GNX serves as the follow-up to Lamar’s previous album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (2022). The album is also his first project to not be released under his former labels, Top Dawg and Aftermath Entertainment.
