New Orleans Pelicans Star Zion Williamson Donates $100K To Support Bourbon Street Tragedy Victims
Zion Williamson, star forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, donated $100,000 to the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Tragedy Fund to support victims of the New Year’s Day attack on Bourbon Street. Zion Williamson stated, “This isn’t just about money—but standing together and making sure no one feels alone.”
The attack left 14 dead and dozens injured after a truck driven by 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar plowed into a crowd. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police.
The tragedy led to Bourbon Street’s temporary closure and the postponement of the Sugar Bowl, where Notre Dame later defeated Georgia 23-10.
Continued prayers to the victims of this senseless tragedy.
