UPDATE: Method Man Denies A$$ault Allegations At Staten Island Gym

Update: Method Man has denied ass@ult allegations stemming from a gym incident.

A representative for the Wu-Tang Clan rapper told Billboard:

“Mr. Smith categorically denies the allegations as reported and has not been the subject of an arrest by any law enforcement agency.”

The Post alleged that Method Man punched a man in the face seven times at a Crunch Fitness gym in Staten Island. The alleged victim is reportedly the ex-boyfriend of the rapper’s 28-year-old daughter, who dated her over a decade ago. Despite the alleged ass@ult, the man declined medical attention at the scene.

While a complaint was reportedly filed with the NYPD, the department confirmed to Billboard that no arrest was made, leaving the situation under dispute.

Original Story: Method Man has reportedly found himself at the center of an assault investigation.

According to reports, the 53-year-old, real name Clifford Smith, was involved in an assault at a Crunch Fitness gym on Staten Island. Allegedly, he punched a 28-year-old man in the face seven times “with a closed fist.” At the time of this post, it’s unclear what started the reported altercation, however, a source said that the man dated Method Man’s daughter — Cheyenne Smith — more than a decade ago.

Witnesses said that despite sharing he felt pain and dizziness, the man refused medical attention at the scene. Reportedly, Method Man was not arrested but a complaint report was filed with the NYPD.
