Ice Cube Explains Why BIG3 Won’t Make Same $5 Million Offer To Angel Reese That Caitlin Clark Received
It seems like the BIG3 was prepared to pull out all the stops to secure Caitlin Clark.
As reported, in 2024, before her WNBA debut, Caitlin Clark was offered a $5 million contract to sign with Ice Cube’s BIG3 league. Once the offer made headlines, Cube said on X:
“We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship. But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”

Fast forward a bit, and now the “Friday” actor is explaining why the BIG3 wouldn’t be able to make the same lucrative offer to another WNBA superstar, Angel Reese. Speaking with TMZ at the airport over the weekend, Cube said:
“[Angel] is a great player. The thing with Caitlin Clark, it was to unlock millions of dollars for the league because of her stardom. What our sponsors were telling us, they didn’t tell us the same about Angel Reese, so I don’t know if we can make that same offer.”
He added:
“I don’t think we can make that same offer because it won’t have that same impact to the league. All business, it ain’t nothing personal.”
