Candace Parker Criticizes WNBA Players For Wearing ‘Pay Us What You Owe Us’ Shirts During All-Star Game w/o Playing Hard: ‘It Was Awful’
Candace Parker recently shared her critical thoughts on WNBA players wearing statement shirts during what she called an “awful” All-Star game.
Speaking on her podcast Post Moves, co-hosted with Indiana Fever player Aliyah Boston, Candace reflected on players wearing shirts during the game that read: “Pay Us What You Owe Us.”
Candace, a former WNBA star turned sports analyst, explained that while she supports the message, she felt the players should’ve backed it up with a stronger performance on the court.

She stated: “I think it was an opportunity… on one of the biggest stages….I just think it would’ve really maximized the moment, wearing the shirts, and also delivering the product.”
Adding: “I tried to watch the All-Star game… I’m a fan of the WNBA, and I couldn’t watch this.”
Although Aliyah attempted to defend the players, saying the All-Star game is meant to be fun and lighthearted, Candace emphasized that it was a missed chance to show the world why they deserve better pay and more respect.
Do you agree with Candace’s take, or is she putting too much pressure on a game that’s supposed to be fun?
