Boxer Claressa Shields Did Not Fight Remy Ma Despite Viral Clip

Claressa Shields never fought Remy Ma.

A clip made the rounds this week, sparking claims that the two-time Olympic gold medalist admitted to punching the rapper. The video, however, is an edited version of an April 2024 interview where Shields recalled a tense run-in with rival Alycia Baumgardner.

At no point did Shields mention Remy Ma. The rumors likely stem from her relationship with Remy’s estranged husband, Papoose. The couple went public in December 2024, and Shields recently revealed plans to have a child with him.
