Former NFL Star Darryl ‘Buster’ Skrine Charged w/ Allegedly Defrauding Women Of $300K In Online Dating Scheme
Darryl Skrine is facing charges.
The former NFL player was arrested in Roswell, Georgia, and charged with 18 counts, including identity fraud, theft by taking, and deposit account fraud. Authorities allege Skrine built romantic relationships with multiple women he met online and tricked them into sending him money by claiming financial struggles.
Roswell Police said, “He promised he would pay them back using funds from his NFL annuity. Instead, he used the money for a lavish lifestyle, Airbnbs, gift cards, and travel.”
Skrine reportedly scammed about $300,000 from victims in Wisconsin, North Carolina, and New York. This comes as he already faces charges in Canada for allegedly defrauding banks of more than $100,000.
