Boxer Manny Pacquiao Confirms Rematch w/ Floyd Mayweather Is
‘Almost’ Finalized After Reports Surface Of Las Vegas Match
Days after reports surfaced about Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather having a rematch, Manny has confirmed a deal is in the works.
He says that talks for a second fight against Floyd are “almost” finalized.
The two boxing icons first faced off in 2015, with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision in what was dubbed the “Fight of the Century.”
Pacquiao later claimed he was dealing with a shoulder injury at the time and told the BBC in 2018 that he “cannot retire with peace of mind with that defeat.”
Now 46, Pacquiao says his team and Mayweather’s camp are “directly coordinating” on a deal that would “probably” take place in Las Vegas.
“It depends on whether we can understand each other,” he told “Seconds Out.”
“It’s very interesting because, right now, I don’t have a shoulder problem,” Pacquiao added. “I’m sure the world of boxing will be excited if the rematch will push through.”
