British Boxer Anthony Joshua Shares Heartfelt Tribute Following De@th Of Trainer & Coach In Tragic Crash
#AnthonyJoshua has paid an emotional tribute to close friends Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele after they were k!lled in a car crash in Nigeria.
The two men were traveling in the same vehicle as Anthony Joshua when it collided with a stationary truck near #Lagos. Joshua suffered minor injuries and, after a hospital stay, has reportedly returned to the UK. In a post shared today (Jan. 8), Joshua thanked supporters and reflected on his bond with the men. “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers,” he wrote. “I didn’t even realise how special they are… not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.”
He added, “100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents… May God have mercy on my brothers.” Ghami had worked with Joshua for more than a decade as his sport and exercise rehabilitation coach, while Ayodele was a longtime friend and personal trainer.
Authorities confirmed the driver, who was hired for the men’s trip, has been charged with causing de@th by dangerous driving and granted bail, with the case adjourned until January 20. Latest reports said authorities were still searching for the driver of the stationary truck.
