Dame Dash Roasts Jay-Z’s Roots Picnic Look, Then Admits He Felt Sorry For Him
Dame Dash isn’t holding back when it comes to Jay-Z’s recent Roots Picnic performance.
While many fans focused on Jay’s lyrical jabs and unexpected new look, Dame revealed that watching his former Roc-A-Fella partner perform left him feeling something unexpected: embarrassment.
“I would have preferred the version of Jay that would have said something more clever,” Dame said during an interview with The Art of Dialogue. “I felt bad because… it must be embarrassing for him to now have to be on that stage, not the same version of himself.”
Dame also took aim at Jay’s appearance, admitting, “The funny thing in me, I couldn’t even hear the lyrics because the hairstyle was crazy.”
Despite their decades-long feud, Dame insisted his criticism came from a place of familiarity.
“So that was the brother in me… I just felt kind of like embarrassed for him a little bit. Cause we all know him.”
He later added, “I don’t think Drake can beat Kendrick, but I know Drake can beat Jay. I know that for a fact.”
Were y’all feeling the look?
