[INTERVIEW] Lisa Wu Explains Departure From Atlanta Housewives: ‘There were certain things that I just would not do.’
If there’s one thing Lisa Wu is doing on Hollywood Divas, is ruffling a few feathers. After her stint on BRAVO’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, conflict is nothing new to her. Proving that she’s more than ‘just a reality star’, on the new TV One show, Lisa seems to be making a bit of progress. theJasmineBRAND.com correspondent @SmithWorldWide chatted with her about her experience on the show, why she wasn’t invited to return to Real Housewives of Atlanta and why she was apprehensive about returning to reality TV.
theJasmineBRAND.com: You’re not new to reality television, what’s the difference between these two casts?
Lisa Wu: You know what’s different is that their actors. Very rarely do you get actors to open up their lives. You know, we usually take characters and when you’re playing a character you don’t really know who the person is. So for them to open themselves up, I mean I give them a lot of respect because you know it’s scary. It’s scary to open up your lives and be vulnerable. They’ve done that and I’ve done it, coming back to it I was a little nervous because I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not sure that I’m ready to do this again.’
theJasmineBRAND.com: What happened in the last experience that made you nervous about this one?
Lisa Wu: What made me nervous is that I liked having my privacy back. I liked not being on TMZ and all that other stuff with the negative stuff. People always take the negative stuff, they never post anything positive. So of course I was apprehensive about returning. I’m in a vulnerable space, I’m not married
